TAG Heuer Introduces a Smartwatch with NFT Display

TAG Heuer is taking an even bolder step into Web3 by creating a watch that allows owners to display their NFTs on its digital face, just weeks after introducing a crypto payment method to its US online store. The new smartwatch, dubbed the ‘Connected Calibre E4,’ can sync JPEG and GIF NFTs from MetaMask and Ledger wallets to its digital interface.
The NFTs on the Connected Calibre E4 will be presented within a hexagonal border, similar to Twitter’s verified NFT displays. This design feature was inspired by convocations the business had with a variety of blue-chip NFT groups.
In addition to NFTs, the watch can display the owner’s personal photos (probably via syncing with their phone’s storage), as well as images made by the TAG Heuer brand.
The watch, which has an RRP of $2000, can be purchased using thirteen different cryptocurrencies on TAG Heuer’s online store, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Dogecoin, thanks to TAG Heuer’s relationship with crypto payments service Bitpay.
According to TAG Heuer CEO FrĂ©dĂ©ric Arnault’s comments on the watch’s introduction, the company’s Web3 adventure begins with the launch of an NFT-displaying watch that can be purchased using crypto: “I’ve always been interested in the NFT space, and this function fits well with TAG Heuer’s tradition of being technologically forward-thinking.” TAG Heuer will have more stories to tell about Web3′′, so stay tuned.
