Selling NFT paintings, a teen earns $10,000.
ZACHARY, Louisiana — Mya Parker was seeking for things to do after she tore her ACL in September and needed to replace the void that athletics had left in her life.
As a method of integrating her talents in art and finance, the 15-year-old Zachary High freshman began producing NFTs, or non-fungible tokens. She’s made almost $10,000 selling her drawings online thus far.
Mya sat back in her mother’s real estate office, saying, “I would never have had the time to complete all of this before I got hurt.” “It has enabled me to make a living.” “Well, not quite a living,” says the narrator.
NFTs are digital items that have digital certificates of authenticity attached to them, such as artwork or video clips. It is impossible to lose or destroy the NFT because the ownership is tied to it and stored on computers all around the world.
Some NFT artworks have fetched millions of dollars at auction. On the NFT marketplace OpenSea, Mya’s drawings go for as much as $140,000.
Mya has been in the Zachary school system’s talented art programme since third grade. She’s also been interested in investing for a long time. Her grandfather took her to buy gold approximately two or three years ago, and as a reward for high grades, he bought her shares in various firms.
