Polygon Network is Crushed by Sunflower Farms

(CRYPTO) According to online sources, Sunflower Farms (SFF), a play-to-earn NFT game, is bringing the Polygon blockchain network to a standstill. Some individuals on Reddit claim that the game’s design is to blame for the excessive number of on-chain contacts, which is exacerbated by automated bots attempting to benefit from the game’s architecture.
As a result, transaction costs for Polygon gas have increased dramatically, and users on Twitter and Reddit are regularly saying that transactions have either failed altogether or are exceedingly delayed. This is consistent with our own observations over the past 36+ hours of attempting and failing to complete transactions on the Polygon network on OpenSea.
The situation has been compared to a DDoS attack, however there has been no indication of malicious intent so yet. A better analogy would be how the popularity of Cryptokitties once suffocated Ethereum’s network.
