Lego and Epic Games Create a Child-Friendly Metaverse
Epic Games and Lego haven’t revealed any specifics about their future metaverse at this time. They did, however, reveal three principles that will guide them as they build a secure digital environment.
First and foremost, they will always put children’s safety and well-being first. Furthermore, their privacy will be paramount. Finally, both children and adults will have access to tools that will allow them to manage their digital lives.
“The Lego Group has captured children and adults’ imaginations through imaginative play for almost a century,” said Epic CEO and founder Tim Sweeney. We’re excited to work together to create a fun, engaging, and family-friendly metaverse.”
“Kids enjoy playing in both the digital and physical worlds and can smoothly transition between them. We believe that via digital experiences, they may acquire lifelong abilities such as creativity, teamwork, and communication. “However, we have a responsibility to make them safe, inspiring, and beneficial for everyone,” Lego CEO Niels B Christiansen stated.
Sweeney describes the metaverse as a “internet playground.” Users can utilize it to play games and watch Netflix movies with their friends. Epic is working on a “family-friendly” digital experience that would “empower kids to become confident creators,” according to the company.
There is no information on how this new metaverse will look or when it will be deployed as of this writing.
