The Azuki NFT line has collaborated with Epik High, a Korean hip-hop group, to create original visual art for their forthcoming Coachella performance. Azuki also shared a beautiful poster with Epik High’s Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz on it. Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz are carrying an axe and a case, respectively, in the artwork, while Tablo is holding his heart.
What we know about Azuki x Epik High thus far
“We’re ecstatic to announce our cooperation with Epik High, the iconic Korean hip-hop band, to produce original visual art for their forthcoming Coachella performance,” Azuki said on April 10.
Epik High is one of the most well-known hip-hop groups in Seoul, South Korea. The band was created in 2001 by Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz. Hip-hop was not as popular in South Korea back then as it is now.
“Epik High have long been pioneers in Asian culture,” Azuki continued, “and were the first Korean artist to ever perform at Coachella in 2016.” “They’ll be the first Korean performer to return to the festival, and we’re happy to collaborate with them to commemorate this moment in Asian brilliance.”
The band has also released a new album in the lead up to the festival. Epik High Is Here (Part 2), their tenth studio album, also explores themes of “self-love, loneliness, and confidence.”
Meanwhile, in recent weeks, Azuki NFT has been making waves in the NFT industry. The project’s floor price has surged following an unexpected NFT airdrop (currently at 22 ETH). This prompted numerous blue-chip NFT holders to express their dissatisfaction, as their projects’ floor was nowhere near that of their peers. Azuki’s collaboration with Epik High has just put another feather to her cap!
