As an NFT creator, do you want to avoid Discord hacks? This is how it works.

With the rise in NFT popularity, there has also been a considerable increase in NFT Discord server hacks. Malicious actors have used Discord server bots or moderator accounts to post links in various channels on multiple occasions. Members who click on these links are duped and lose their money. Hacks have recently targeted major NFT projects like Boss Beauties and even Snoop Dogg’s Rap Empire Discord server.

If you’re an NFT creator, it’s critical to safeguard your Discord server. Wilson K Lee, a serial entrepreneur, recently gave some advice on how to avoid Discord hacks. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

How to Stay Away From Discord Hacks
If you’re the NFT creator, the first step is to make sure you’re the owner of the Discord server. You must ask the creator to transfer ownership to you, even if you did not establish the server. What is the significance of this? You will be able to take the appropriate actions as a server owner if something goes wrong.

Then, only provide moderator powers to a select few people you know and trust. Furthermore, you must ensure that there are enough moderators to cover all time zones. It should not happen that something happens in the middle of the night and no one alerts you or takes action. “Never have a single point of failure and put in redundancy,” Wilson stated.

Having trusted moderators, on the other hand, isn’t enough to avoid Discord hackers. After all, they are human, and hackers can gain access in a variety of ways. As a result, constantly remember the golden rule: everyone must maintain constant vigilance.

After that, you should include several safety cautions. Wilson’s server, for example, features bots that remind members of safety protocols every 15 minutes. This might include warnings to only mint from your official websites, to prevent clicking on dubious links, to stress that the moderators would never send members direct messages, and so forth. Always keep your neighbourhood informed about how you run your business. “If anything looks out of the ordinary, [your] community will not fall prey,” says the author.

If you’ve been hacked, here’s what you should do.
If your Discord server is hacked, there are a few things you can do to protect yourself. First and foremost, take a pause and notify your Discord community via Twitter that it has been hijacked. Following that, you must take command of your server.

Discord hacks are generally carried out through “webhooks,” in which a “hacker instals a remote control in your home to grab control and post a phoney mint site in your channels.” Go to server settings and look for the integrations option to delete webhooks. Select webhooks and clear them all.

Select the audit log option under server settings to prevent the hacker from creating new webhooks. Then type “create webhook” to find out whose account has been hacked and is sending out webhooks. Then place a temporary ban on this person. Now that the hacker has vanished, it’s time to devise a strategy to assist individuals who have been harmed.

Wilson went on to say, “The greatest approach to resist scams/hacks is to be aware and educated.” “[You] must have faith in [your] senses… “Be compassionate and sympathetic.”
